56 CDAs Appeal to Governor Abiodun, lawmakers on Egbado, Jesu Seun Roads

The Akera Area Community Development Committee, Ogun State, has called on the  Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun to remember the community that has been abandoned for 20 years, and help them repair/rehabilitate on two important roads.

Speaking during the monthly general meeting of the AACDC, (which Comprises of 56 CDAs) the Chairman, Evangelist Theophilous Akinwande appealed to the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the Representatives in the Senate, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, House of Representatives, Hon. Ibrahim Isiaka, the State House of Assembly, Hon Ganiu Oyedeji (GOCO) on the importance of fixing the roads in the interest of the citizens in the area who have never enjoyed the dividends of democracy for over two decades.

He said: “For years, Akera CDC has been existing, and we have two major roads in the area in Ogun State; Egbado Road from Dalemo to Odewale Railway crossing has been neglected,  economic activities have been paralysed as it has been abandoned by the government, and the road is even a death trap from time to time.

“Another one is Aboro Road, from Mao Junction to RAFCO also known as Jesu Oseun , a major road by Ogun State government has been abandoned . In fact, the communities have written series of letters,  nothing has been done by the government.  Even the Akera CDC committee and the zonal CDC committee have written and the two roads were included.  For the past four years, nothing has been done. Communities  have gone to radio stations to no avail.

“Even in 2017/2018, we (the 56 CDAs) told Ogun State government  that we wanted to go to Lagos since there was no improvement, so they can do our roads.

But government has promised,  and our past Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun  sent our Honourable  in the House of Assembly  to us at the time, but for the past 4 years now, nothing has been achieved,  and the community may rise up again and say they want to go to Lagos because of our roads.”
THE Chairman said for years, the community has been financing projects like health Centres, police stations, gutters, culverts, erection of electric poles and purchase of street lights and cables, etc, without support of government.

“So, we are appealing to our Governor,  Prince Dapo Abiodun, our representatives in Senate, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, House of Representatives, Hon. Ibrahim Isiaka, State House of Assembly, Hon Ganiu Oyedeji (GOCO) and Local  Government Chairperson, Chief ( Mrs) Kikelomo Adelano on the two roads.”
