Minister of State for Transport, Gbemisola Saraki, has frowned at the demolition of her father’s property, ‘Ile Arugbo’, by the Kwara State Government in the early hours of Thursday.
Recall that Governor AbdulRazaq-led administration had claimed that the property did not have a C of O, adding that nothing was paid to the state government for the land occupied by the Saraki’s father, late Olusola, during his administration as the Governor of the state.
Daily Nigerian reports that at around 4:00 am the security operatives dispersed protesters, including aged women within the complex while the demolition was going on. Clips online have persons alleging that police fired shots in the air, even as teargas was used to disperse people on the scene.
Frontline News Online learnt that daughter of the Late politician and minister of Transportation, Sen. Gbemi Saraki’s home which about 400 meters away from ‘Ile Arugbo’ felt the impact of the forceful demolition carried out with support from the police. Sources say six live ammunition shells casings and nine teargas canisters where found in the minister’s private resident following demolition.
