Nigerian songstress was the number one trending topic on Google for the better part of Friday as news of her confession to US radio show hostess, Angie Martinez, that she was being blackmailed with her sex tape became a major topic of discussion online.
Even as t 9.11 pm Nigerian time, Tiwa was the number 3 trending topic with 10,000 searches on Google. This as she was a major topic on social media with fans posting and making comments about the award winning artiste’s situation.
Tiwa had told the famous radio presenter that the sex video features her and her current lover.
She said, โYesterday, I was leaving a radio station and I was in my car when my road manager sent me a message.
โShe said I should check my phone. I checked it and there was a video, and I was just like, โWow!โ
โI asked him where he got it from and he said he received it about 20 minutes earlier.
โThe video was sent to him and it is a tape of me and the person I am dating right now.
โThe first thing I did after I got off the phone was that I sent it to my manager and asked what we should do.
โThe person is asking for money now. The person I am dating is going crazy too.
โMy manager asked how much the person is asking for. โ
Despite her embarrassment and worry, Tiwa vowed not to pay her blackmailer for โdoing something natural.โ
โI decided I was not going to pay the person because if I do, two months from now, three months down the line or even two years later, you are going to come back again.
โWho knows, if I send the money, the person will probably release it. I am not going to let anyone blackmail me for doing something natural.โ
