The city of Abuja was agog as friends and associates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Organising Secretary-elect, Capt. Umar Mohammed Bature treated him to a welcome dinner.
It was a night of glitz and glamor as the event was well attended by eminent personalities of the party which includes state chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party , members of parliament, party officials, stakeholders as well as teeming supporters.
The National Secretary elect of the PDP, Sen Samdaddy Emeka Anyanwu gave the keynote address as he described his colleague as an upright individual who is more than qualified to run the engine room of the party. Sen Anyanwu noted that he ( Capt. Bature) will build on the gains of his predecessor in the person of Col. Austin Akogbondu.
The dinner event which was organized by friends and associates of Capt. Umar Bature was well coordinated by the pioneer director general (DG) PDP Governors Forum, Chief Osaro Onaiwu.
The occasion was graced by the senate minority whip, Senator Abdullahi Danbaba, Hon Nnorom Nnaji, chairman house committee on aviation, PDP National youth leader, Prince Kadade amongst others.
While addressing press, the incoming National Organising Secretary, Capt. Umar Mohammed Bature called on party members and Nigerians to come together and rescue the nation from the clutches of the All progressives Congress, APC, adding that not only have they failed on their cardinal campaign promises, but have also dashed the hopes of Nigerians. “We are on a RESCUE MISSION” Mr Bature concluded.
