
As Super Eagles’ ace, celebrates his birthday today, he is also making the headlines across the globe with yet another hint that he could be open to a move to Chelsea.
Osimhen, who was recently crowned the African Footballer of the Year has constantly been linked with a move to the Premier League following his sensational Serie A form. Arsenal and Manchester United have previously been credited as suitors, while Chelsea have also been rumoured to be in the chase for his signature.
The Blues have a new striker on their shopping list heading into the January transfer window, with Osimhen an option, while Sporting Lisbon’s Victor Gyokeres has also recently been speculated as a target for the team.
A supporter has also made an appeal on social media to the former to move to Stamford Bridge, the UK Mirror reports.
Taking to social media platform X – formerly Twitter – on Osimhen’s birthday, they wrote: “Happy Birthday Victor Osimhen, pls come and rescue Chelsea soon,” alongside an image of the striker as a youngster in a Chelsea shirt.
In response, Osimhen posted two heart emojis, alongside a praying emoji. His social media activity is not the only hint that he has dropped recently.
The 25-year-old recently signed on a new contract with Napoli until 2026. A new release clause has been written into the deal that is worth over £100m.
