Social media content creator Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, alleged on Monday controversial crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky was apprehended by officials of the Nigerian Immigration Service as he tried to sneak into Benin Republic.

VDM alleged in a video posted on his Instagram page on Monday that Bobrisky was apprehended at the Seme border while attempting to flee to the Benin Republic to avoid an ongoing investigation by the House of Representatives.

VDM stated, “Bobrisky has been arrested this morning at Seme border while trying to enter Benin Republic to escape the current investigation by the House of Reps. He is allegedly being held by Nigeria Immigration.”

Meanwhile, Linda Ikeji Blogs reports that the investigative panel set up by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to probe VDM’s claims that Bobriskyspent his six-month jail term in a private apartment and not in a custodial center has dismissed the claim.

Uju Agomoh who is the Executive Director and founder of Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Welfare Action (PRAWA) and who served as a member of the panel, stated that the committee did not find any evidence to support the claims that Bobrisky stayed outside the prison during his sentence, which lasted from April 12, 2024, to August 5, 2024.

“The panel did not find any evidence thus far that suggested Mr. Okuneye slept outside the custodial center during the period of his imprisonment’’ LIB and Vanguard quotes Uju as saying

Uju insisted that Bobrisky served his six-month correctional sentence with the usual remission applicable to such cases, adding that investigations showed that he received certain privileges during his time behind bars.

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, inaugurated the panel in Abuja on Monday, September 30 following the relesse of an audio by VDM where Bobrisky claimed to have served his sentence in a flat near the prison
