EFCC Declares Sujimoto CEO Wanted Over Money Laundering

These are not the best times for Lagos businessmen and socialite, Olasijibomi Ogundele, aka, Sujimoto as he had been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged diversion of funds and money laundering.

In a wanted notice signed by its Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, and posted on its official X handle on Friday, the anti-graft agency appealed to the general public to furnish it credible information about Ogundele’s whereabouts to come forward.

The notice read, “The public is hereby notified that Olasijibomi Ogundele of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in an alleged case of diversion of funds and money laundering.

“Ogundele is a 44-year-old indigene of Ori-Ade Local Government Area of Osun State. His last known address is: G29, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos State.

“Anybody with useful information as to his whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt or Abuja offices, or through 08093322644; its e-mail address: [email protected], or the nearest Police Station and other security agencies.”

Hours after he was declared wanted by the EFCC, Sujimoto, has released a video saying he will submit himself to the Commission. He also denied being on the run, saying, EFCC is searching for him owing to a deal gone wrong between him and the Enugu State government. Sujimoto explained that he was awarded a contract to build schools in the state, but he kept telling Governor Peter Mbah, that it would be impossible to deliver the schools based figure the contract was awarded. According to him, his workers faced gun attacks and other challenges while building the schools awarded to his company and it eventually became clear that his company couldn’t deliver on the project. He promised to answer EFCC’s summons.
