Bad Boy Records founder, Sean “Diddy” Combs is set to be sentenced Friday following his conviction on federal sex-related charges, capping a two-month trial that exposed disturbing allegations of abuse and manipulation.
The Hip-Hop icon faces up to 20 years in prison, with the prosecution and the defence seeking sharply different outcomes.
Recall that Combs was found guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution; he was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking. This is as prosecutors areย seeking an 11-year sentence, while the defence is requesting 14 months.

However, the sentencing will not be televised due to Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 53, which prohibits the use of cameras in federal criminal courtrooms.
Despite seeking bail, Combs remains in custody at Brooklynโs Metropolitan Detention Center, whereย heโs been held since his September 2024 arrest.
Supporters and criticsโincluding ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and industry peersโhave submitted letters to Judge Arun Subramanian ahead of sentencing.
Meanwhile, Diddy had appealed for mercy from the judge. In his four page letter, Sean โDiddyโ Combs reflected on his time in prison and requested a chance to be better father.
