Dream Soul Entertainment signs Notrace for N90m record deal

2019 promises to be a big year for multi-talented entertainer, Notrace as he recently inked a N90 million record deal with Abuja showbiz powerhouse, Dream Soul Entertainment.

The new deal was made public by showbiz impresario and Director of Dream Soul Entertainment, Ms. Jolly Nnenna Abani on Friday in Abuja.

Speaking at the media unveiling of ‘Melanin’, Notrace’s lead single, from his upcoming album, Abani described her new signing as the artist Nigeria has been waiting for.

“Dream Soul Entertainment will be spending about N90 million in the first, second and third quarter of 2019 to record and market, Notrace’s singles and ultimately his album. We are ready to go all the way to ensure that our artist is heard. We have a good product to sell’, she opined.

Abani who is also a film producer and pageant promoter revealed that a N70 million investment was made into the Dream Soul Entertainment studios to make them a rendezvous where Abuja artists and visiting stars can record music.

Speaking on why he signed with Dream Soul Entertainment, Notrace, real names: Kennedy Chukwuma Aja, said he put signature to paper as the record label is committed to growing talent.

“Dream Soul Entertainment didn’t come to me like other labels. They came wanting to know my views. They wanted to know what my dreams were and how we can work together to make these dreams a reality” he explained.

Notrace, who’s also celebrated for his production and engineering skills said his first single ‘Melanin’ was recorded to remind young black women that black, is still beautiful and they don’t need to bleach their skin to stand out.

The articulate singer who holds an MBA from University of Leicester will be pushing out more singles next year, not just in his favorite afro-dancehall genre, but also R&B and afro-pop recordings.  Notrace disclosed plans to collaborate with Burna Boy and other top artistes for his album.
