….APC mourns death of supporters

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, expressed sadness at the death of two persons, who died during his presidential campaign today in Jalingo, Taraba State.

His personal assistant on media, Bashir Ahmed shared the president’s condolence message on his verified Twitter handle.

He tweeted, “President Muhammadu Buhari expresses sadness over the death of two persons as a result of overcrowding at his presidential campaign today in Jalingo, Taraba State.

“I always feel very sad and distressed when ordinary Nigerians who love me and our party because of what we stand for and have done, make personal sacrifices by taking the pains to show their support, end their lives tragically”. – Pres. @MBuhari on Taraba tragedy.”

APC mourns death of supporters

The All Progressives Congress (APC) mourns the death of some of its supporters following a stampede the campaign rally for its candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari held at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in the Taraba State capital, Jalingo.

The party through its national publicity secretary, Lanre Issa- Onilu expressed condolences to the families of the dead.

The statement read in part: “Our great party is deeply pained by this painful loss. We pray for the dearly departed and express our deep condolences to their family members, loved ones and the good people of Taraba State.

“We also pray for the speedy and full recovery of our dear supporters who suffered injuries in the sad incident caused by overcrowding”.
