The Super Eagles managed a 1-0 win over Guinea Bissau to qualify for the round of 16 at the African Cup of Nations.
An own goal by Opa Sangante in the first half was enough to seal qualification for Jose Peseiro’s men.
Meanwhile Equatorial Guinea produced one of the shocks in AFCON history as they thrashed Côte d’Ivoire 4-0 in the other game.
The Ivorians will now have to wait to see if they will qualify as one of the third best placed teams.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon has been named the Man-Of-The-Match award in the team’s 1-0 win over Guinea-Bissau in Monday’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Simon, who played the entire 90 minutes was a thorn in the flesh of the Guinea-Bissau defence.
