Nigeria’s dominance of wrestling continues as the quartet of Blessing Oborududu, Odunayo Adekuoroye, Hannah Rueben and Esther Kolawole all picked gold medals in womenโs wrestling at the Africans Games 2023 on Sunday.
Also on Sunday, Mercy Genesis and Christiana Ogunsanya won gold medals in their respective wrestling categories.
Adekuoroye recorded a quick victory over her Moroccan opponent Zineb Hassoune, with a fall (6-0) to win Nigeriaโs third gold medal in the 57kg category.
Oborududu and Kolawole increased the gold medal haul, winning gold in the 68kg and 62kg respectively.
The sixth gold medal was won by Rueben, a soldier in the Nigerian army.
