Africa’s richest man, Mr. Aliko Dangote recently expressed his wish to be the continent’s biggest philanthropist and it seems he is working hard towards it.
He had explained in May that his ambition to be Africa’s biggest giver was the motivation for the Aliko Dangote Foundation, disbursing a total of N2.5bn to 256,500 women across Kano, Lagos, Jigawa, Kogi, Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.
“I do not only want to be known as Africa’s richest man, but the biggest philanthropist.
“I will continue to use my resources and my voice to help shape a better Nigeria, and Africa as a whole,” the wealthy businessman said.
Still pushing for the top spot, the founder of the Dangote Group today tweeted on his verified, @AlikoDangote handle, that he has handed over 200 houses to Borno State government for Internally Displaced (IDPs).
“It gives me great joy to commission 200 housing units built by @AlikoDangoteFdn for IDPs; each unit specially built to house a family and with the provision of tools by Borno StateGovt. to sustain their livelihood, I am positive we are on the right path towards achieving our goal”, he tweeted earlier in the day.
