Ajimobi meets with Yinka Ayefele over demolition of FRESH FM

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State on Thursday met with the founder of Fresh FM, Mr. Yinka Ayefele, over the demoltion of the Music House complex housing the radio station.

“Earlier today, I met with the CEO of FRESHFM, Ibadan, Mr. Yinka Ayefele; to resolve issues surrounding the partial demolition of his Music House”, Ajimobi announced on his Facebook page.

Also in attendance at the high powered meeting were respected traditional rulers from the state, led by the Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III.

It’s been reported that the Alaafin brokered what seem to be a peace deal.

The meeting comes days after a viral video of the governor saying Ayefele wouldn’t be treated differently because he is physically challenged, as he failed to obey the laws of the land.

Just like the demolition of the of the radio station’s office, Ajimobi’s statement on video drew heavy criticism.

His meeting with the popular juju musician has therefore been seen as a face saving effort from the Oyo State government.

The state government had insisted that the location of the Music House complex was causing obstruction on the road it was located leading to accidents.
