Robbers suspected to be Fulani in the early hours of Wednesday attacked Nuku village in the Kaiama Local Government of Kwara State, leaving the villagers sorrow, tears and blood.
The robbers, attacked the community but, were disappointed and angry after discovering that there was “nothing on ground for them to steal, the Punch reports.
The sources added that irked by the situation, they left residents with machete injuries and raped minors.
According to the paper, two members of the community, identified as Alhaji Hassan Woru, who was the head of the family; and his brother, Yunusa Woru, were attacked with machete by the robbers.
They also abducted and raped two girls who were later released to the community.
Spokesman for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State Command, Babawale Afolabi, confirmed the incident.
“Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the assailants while further investigations are ongoing”. the paper quoted him as saying”, the paper quoted him as saying.
