Grammy nominee, Yemi Alade shed her cool girl toga on Thursday to call out the management of Cool FM and its music promotion platform Clout Africa for cancelling her music and brand on their platforms.
Alade who performed at the opening ceremony of AFCON 2023 accused Cool FM of “forming gate keepers” and taking her song down because she did not attend their show last year.
She described the manager and owner of the station as petty and unforgiving.
“My God will fight for me, and I will hold my peace. Since December 2023 … I personally reach out in January….. still, you are refusing to play my music and give my team a hard time. YOU’RE NOT GATE KEEPERS, and YOU ARE NOT GOD …. MY GOD WILL FUSTRATE YOU ALL. @coolfmlagos @cloutafrica”, Yemi posted on her Facebook page.
“My God, BIG PASS YOUR WHOLE station @cloutafrica @CoolFMNigeria , keep on forming gate keepers and taking my songs down. NA GOD BE MY LABEL AND MANAGEMENT, we go meet for front. Fake people wey dey feel like small gods”, Yemi added in another post.
Many fans have hailed the celebrated musician for boldly calling out oppressors and not sharing ‘sub’ posts.
Christian Kalu a follower of the artiste on Facebook commented: “For Yemi Alade to speak out…..just know that she has exercised patience enough Without them, she’s already getting that recognition she deserves. It’s well shaaa”.
Another fan, Oluwafemi Oluwasuen said on the post: “Stay focused my dear, they’re not God. We love you “.
