Asaba Traditional Ruler, Edozien Dies At 99

The Asagba of Asaba, Delta State, Obi Joseph Edozien has joined his ancestors aged 99 years.

The monarch was said to have died on Wednesday.

The news of the monarch’s demise filtered in on Thursday with residents of the state capital mourning his loss.

A source in the place said according to tradition, there would be no public statement on the development until after seven days.

“It is true that the Asagba is no more. But we respect our tradition so much. Our tradition forbids the official announcement of the monarch’s death before seven days,” the source explained.
