The runner-up in the Tuesday’s election to the office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the Ninth National Assembly, Hon Umaru Mohammed Bago, on Friday formally congratulated the Speaker Hon Femi Gbajabiamila and the Deputy Speaker, Hon Idris Wase on their victory at the poll.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja yesterday by the Spokesperson of his Campaign Organization, Hon Victor Adam Ogene.
While noting that the election had come and gone, Ogene disclosed the race was a friendly contest aimed at deepening the nation’s democracy and to propagate its unity.

“We therefore formally congratulate the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Idris Wase on their elections
” While wishing them well, we hereby pledge the support of our principal, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago to work with them and give all the support they would need from him to evolve and pursue populist and people-oriented policies and programmes for the good of the House and Nigerians at large.
” Hon Bago shall be glad to lend his vision to the entire House leadership to also enable our great party, the All Progressives Congress, APC and the government of President Muhammadu Buhari realize its Next Level agenda for the country”.
The Organisation expressed gratitude to the 360 members of the House of Representatives, the Press, members of the Civil Society Organizations and the general public for their support during the race.
