For the first time in the history of the Big Brother Naija show, an aggrieved housemate has sued another.
Following a heated BBNaija Level Up season reunion in which former housemates exchanged barbs, Chichi has dragged the winner of the show, Phyna to court for defamation.

Fans will remember how Phyna accused Chichi of abandoning her husband and children in Benin City, alleging that her abandonment insinuating that it resulted in the tragic death of one of her children.
Phyna also slammed Chichi who she alleged to have used deceased parents as a strategy to get support and votes. Phyna equally mocked Chichi for making it to the final of the show with a low percentage of votes.
Phyna further accused Chichi who also has harsh exchange with her former love interest on the show, Deji, of poisoning her friend in Cyprus out of jealousy.
In a surprising twist, Chichi has dragged Phyna to court.
Her lawyers have filed a lawsuit stating that Phyna’s claims of Chichi poisoning her friend are entirely false, filled with lies, malicious intent, and slander. The legal team also emphasised that Phyna’s statements have had a detrimental impact on Chichi’s professional life, resulting in the loss of several endorsement deals and tarnishing her public image.
Chichi is seeking a N100 million in damages as compensation for the damage caused her by her one-time ally. She said she suffered a loss of earnings, and emotional distress endured as a result of Phyna’s defamatory remarks.
