Big Brother All Stars Must Dazzle

By Kemi Yesufu

I’ve been screaming in delight for the last two hours.

My neighbours would probably be wondering what’s going on.

The line up for the Big Brother Naija All Stars is dazzling!

Cynthia Nwadiora better known as Cee-C was the first housemate to enter the Big Brother Naija much anticipated BBN All Stars season.

Cee-C said she is returning to the show because Big Brother called her. She promised that she will be focused on the N120 million cash prize and have no entanglements with guys.

She was closely followed by the Lock Down season loverboy, Kiddwaya, who said though he is doing quite well with his TV production business in the UK, he chose to come back to contest for the money, to share with everyone.

Doyin from the Level Up Season was the third housemate, who also said she is returning for the money and will not be making friends. She said she will be a lone ranger.

Double Wahala standout star, Frodd was the fourth to walk into the well designed Big Brother House. He told Ebuka he is now more mature, married and expecting a baby girl. Frodd promised not to take nonsense from anyone.

See Gobe season flygal Uriel Oputa came in after Frodd. The fitness enthusiast said she is hoping to get a husband after appearing on this season.

Fondly called the general, Nollywood leading man, Pere returns to the Big Brother Naija show to have fun and show his other side to the fans.

From the Double Wahala season comes Princess who said she hopes to stay much longer. For Soma from the See Gobe Season, he also hopes to stay longer on the show. He vowed to be more outspoken and lively on the show.

Shine Ya Eye season baby girl Angel also said she is back to make more meaningful friendships even as she promised as many gbas-gbos.

Neo from the Lock Down season was next to walk in, saying that he has no strategy other than being himself. On stage, Neo who dated and has since parted ways with another Lock Down housemate, Vee, said it’s the grace which saw him into the finals in his season which will see him to the finale this time around.

Alex one of the favorites from the Double Wahala season described herself as the main event. She said being herself will be her only strategy. Seyi from the Pepper Dem season said he will be true to himself on the show. This is as he announced that he is happily married.

Self –acclaimed original Gen Z, Ilebaye says she comes better prepared with a management who will better sell her on the outside.

Loverboy Ike whose romance with his season winner, Mercy was the talk of the show told the show host Ebuka that he will not be distracted this time round. Venita who happens to be cousins with Neo also made a glamourous entrance into the show. She revealed that she has always been interested in the All-Star season. The mother of two said she will be hot as pepper on the show, even as she aims to the queen of the arena games.

Quiet but controversial Level Up finalist, Adekunle, introduced his new persona, ‘bad boy Dex”, for the new season. Indeed, fans may just be seeing a new Adekunle as he now spots a stud on his ear. DJ Tolani Baj is back on the show because she loves to be on reality TV. The Lock Down Season star said she will be as outspoken as before.

He described himself as a man of love, Cross who indeed is loved by female fans is returning to the house. Cross is very grateful for the platform of BBNaija. He promised to have plenty fun and win the money this time.

Will the fans show Mercy Eke (Lambo) the same love they showed her when she won the Pepper Dem season? She made a grand entrance on stage. Whitemoney another winner followed Mercy into the House. According to him, he still has the support of the masses. He said his life has been amazing since won the show. Whitemoney said he is back to promote his music and he wants to prove his critics wrong that he won with pity votes.

If the Level Up Season was underwhelming with much lesser following by fans, the All Stars season has all it takes to restore the glory of the BBN brand.

This season will definitely see a lot of drama unfolding.

Firstly, these housemates are returning as top celebrities with a large fan base. Some of the All Stars housemates even have ‘stanners’ who are ever ready for battle on social media and with their votes.

It will also be interesting to see the dynamics between Mercy and her ex Ike, Whitemoney and Pere, Cross and Angel, Alex and Cee-C, Neo and Venita and Adekunle and Doyin

. Another question that is burning on my mind is the question of these celebrities turned housemates for a second time keeping it real and not acting for the cameras. Will they also be hungry to win during the arena games ?

Will there be ‘ships” this season?

Certainly housemates are returning much more exposed and polished and this showed in the show-stopping outfits and noticeably improved carriage and composure they displayed on stage. Kidwaya was probably the worst dressed on the night. Fashion has never been his thing. But like I earlier asked, will this housemates be divas or real as can be? Big Brother has already told them that they are all equal, that there is no difference between finalists or people who were evicted early on the show.

It’s quite early in the game to term any housemate a lightweight but I can’t help but do a quick prediction based on my being a long standing fan of the show.

I see Neo, Uriel, Ilebaye, Soma, Seyi, Adekunle , Venita and Princess leaving earlier if Big Brother keeps the simple (individual) nomination and eviction process. This house just has too many heavyweights with fans who are ever ready to fight, at least on social media for lesser known housemates to go far in the game.

I once joined fans who suggested that BBN gets a new host, but Ebuka showed why he is just enough for the show tonight. He handled the All Stars season launch effortlessly and with finesse . As said earlier, I am a huge fan of the show because I see it as a platform which has empowered not just the stars we’ve come to know but those behind the scene and even other businesses who BB Naija stars have used their star power to sell these brands. I also see BBN as a much needed distraction for regular folks from the country’s many problems.

Let the fun and entertainment begin!
