A few hours after Xabi Alonso had been announced as the new Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancellotti has also been announced the new coach for Brazil.
According to reports, the former Real Madrid boss will assume the role on May 26, following his final match with Real Madrid against Real Sociedad in La Liga.
Sports journalist David Ornstein, disclosed that the 65-year-old Italian becomes Brazilโs first foreign appointment in the menโs dugout.
The report read: โAgreements are in place and contracts signed for him to become Brazilโs first foreign appointment in the menโs dugout.
โAmong the most successful managers in football history, Ancelotti is to pick up Brazilโs 2026 World Cup qualification campaign, with the aim of a record-extending sixth triumph at the finals in the United States, Canada and Mexico,โ the report stated.
โAncelotti had a year left on his terms at the Bernabeu but a deal was confirmed following cordial talks between all parties, facilitated and led by Diego Fernandes on behalf of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
