President Muhammadu Buhari forwarded the nomination of Lauretta Onochie as the new chairperson of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, on Wednesday, at the plenary read the nomination letters sent to the senate by the president naming 14 others as members of the board.
Recall that Onochie the controversial Special Adviser on Social Media to the president was earlier nominated by him as a commissioner at the Independent Electoral Commission, but her nomination was met by stiff opposition from the media, CSOs and the public.
The Senate bowed to pressure, failing to confirm her appointment.
