The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, has disclosed that the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the apex bank has retained the country’s benchmark interest rate at 27.50 per cent for the second consecutive time in 2025.
Cardoso, made the announcement during a press briefing on Tuesday after the 300th MPC meeting held in Abuja.
“The Committee was unanimous in its agreement to hold all parameters,” Cardoso stated, affirming the apex bank’s decision to maintain current monetary policy settings amidst ongoing economic evaluations.
