Court declares Innoson Motors boss wanted

Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court, sitting in Lagos, on Thursday, declared the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Innoson Motor Manufacturing Limited, Mr. Innocent Chukwuma wanted, for failure to appear before her for the fifth time.

At the resumed sitting of court, Chukwuma, who is supposed to be a defendant in the case of forgery brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), was not in court, after failing on four previous occasions.

Dada, who had earlier issued a bench warrant, upped the ante by the order after counsel to the EFCC explained to the court, that it had been impossible to execute the bench warrant earlier issued by the court.
Chukwuma, the first Nigerian private vehicle manufacturer, has been having a running battle with the anti-graft agency, over the issue of forgery, arising from the complaint of GTB, a Nigerian commercial bank as a result of a sour business relationship for which both are already in court.

Dada, had brushed aside  every explanation brought by lawyers to the industrialist, insisting that whatever motion she would entertain, must with Chukwuma, physically present.
