The Ogidi born politician cum business man, Dr. Obiora Okonkwo, the Guber Candidate of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), has been adopted as a consensus Candidate by other political parties and critical stakeholders in Anambra state ahead of the scheduled November 6, 2021 Election in the state.
Dr Okonkwo’s adoption came as a result of his outstanding credentials and pedigree, and also due to his array of people’s oriented programmes and policies for Ndi-Anambra if elected as the next Governor of the state.
In addition, the people of Anambra state have also considered the numerous issues affecting other political parties and its candidates in the state, especially, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), All Progressives Congress (APC), the Young Progressives Party (YPP), and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In APGA, the lingering integrity crisis between its Guber candidate, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, and the party is destroying the soul of the party in the state.
APGA is also battling in court on who is the actual Guber candidate of the party, even with the court ruling that imposed Professor Soludo on INEC and the party.
In APC, there are serious crisis between the former Governor of the state and minister of Labour and employment, Dr Chris Ngige and the Guber candidate of the party, Senator Andy Ubah. The crisis in APC is leaving no one in doubt as to what will become of the party before the November 6, 2021 Guber Election.
In the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), it’s becoming clearer that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), may not be able to list any candidate of the party due to numerous court issues.
The YPP Guber Candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah is also battling with integrity crisis, scary debt profile and other issues. The stakeholders in Anambra state have considered Senator Ifeanyi as a serious burden with too much baggage if elected as Governor of Anambra state.
In view of the above, the people of Anambra state have agreed that,
Considering the importance of these issues affecting the parties and it’s candidates, it is suicidal for Ndi-Anambra to waste their votes on any of the above listed political parties that will put the state in jeopardy at the end of the election in November.
The stakeholders from the different political parties and state in general have therefore unanimously agreed to elect Dr Obiora Okonkwo of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), as the next Governor of the state come November 6, 2021.
