EFCC Grills Yahaya Bello After Ex-Governor’s Surrender

Former governor of Kogi State, Mr. Yahaya Bello

The former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, for a second time, on Tuesday, presented himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged misappropriation of funds.

Before today, the anti-graft agency and the former governor were playing cat-and-mouse. In April, the EFCC declared Bello wanted after he reportedly refused to show up after a series of invitations.

EFCC officials had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja to arrest him, but he was soon rescued by his hand-picked successor Gov Usman Odod even after security operatives reinforced with backup support from the Police and Department of State Services (DSS).
