………Wase tasks Muslims on teachings of the Prophet

The President of the Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, has felicitated with Nigerians, particularly the Muslim faithful, as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.

The Senate President, in a Sallah message released on Saturday by his Media Adviser, Ola Awoniyi, also congratulates all Muslims who have joined their brothers and sisters from across the world in participating in the rites of the Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

As they mark the very important pious occasion, Lawan reminds all Muslims to remember the purpose of the celebration, which is to commemorate the trials and triumph of Prophet Ibrahim.

He says the Prophet is remembered and venerated across ages for passing a great test of faith.

The Senate President urges all Nigerians to be steadfast in their commitment to building the nation of their dream.

“I urge all to take inspiration from the exemplary virtues demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim through his sacrifice, patience, steadfastness, generosity and obedience to Allah’s command and constituted authority,” the statement said, quoting Lawan who is currently in the Holy Land for this year’s Hajj.

Lawan also enjoins Nigerians to always remember their shared heritage and destiny of national greatness and to be guided by the Nigerian spirit of firm confidence as they tackle the contemporary challenges of nation-building.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila has urged Nigerian Muslims to rededicate themselves to the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The Speaker, who is in Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj, said the teachings of the Holy Prophet should also be replicated by all Nigerians.

He said: “I greet and rejoice with all our citizens of the Islamic faith and entire people of Nigeria in general as we celebrate this year’s Eid-El-Kabir.

“Today, as we celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir, I urge us to allow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) to reflect in our daily relationships with our fellow men.

Eid el Kabir is a festival of sacrifice, and it reminds us of the need for sacrifice and obedience.

“It is my strong belief that if the charity and generosity displayed by the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) to the less-privileged and the community are replicated by every one of us, the greatness Nigeria desires is assured.

“As we go out to observe the Eid-el Kabir, I also urge our entire Muslim community and our pilgrims, who are preparing to return home, having completed the Hajj, to pray for the unity and prosperity of Nigeria.

“I also urge us to celebrate the festival with all modesty and the knowledge that the period is meant to share and show love,” the Speaker said and prayed for Allah’s blessings to be on Nigeria and Nigerians.

“It is my prayer that we shall celebrate many more Eid-el-Kabir on earth”.

 

Wase tasks Muslims on teachings of the Prophet
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Ahmed Idris Wase has enjoined the Muslim Ummah to always be guided by the attributes and lessons from the life and times of Holy Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W) which symbolizes peace, love and tolerance.
In his Sallah massage to Muslims on the occasion of Eid el Kabir, Wase called on Nigerians to use the  Eid-El-Kabir celebration to pray for the nation especially with regards to the country’s security challenges.
In the message issued by his Chief press secretary, Umar Muhammad Puma, he urged the Muslim community in the country to be worthy ambassadors of the faith and pray for the progress of the nation.
The Deputy Speaker congratulated all Nigerians who successfully performed the Hajj this year in fulfillment of a key injunction of their faith and prayed God to accept their ibadat as they  continue in their  spiritual journey towards the fulfillment of the pilgrimage rites.
He reminded Muslim faithfuls of the need to share what they have with their neighbours as a mark of love in accordance with the injunctions of Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W).
