Falcons striker, Rasheedat Ajibade, joins Atletico Madrid from Avaldsnes

Atletico Madrid have secured the services of the Super Falcons forward from her Norwegian Toppserien outfit.

Rasheedat Ajibade has joined the former Spanish champions Atletico Madrid ย on a two-year deal from her former club Avaldsnes.

Ajibadeโ€™s contract with Avaldsnes ran out in December 2020.

Her arrival at the Spanish club is her second move in Europe.

The Nigerian international had joined Avaldsnes Idrettssenter on a two-year deal from Nigerian side Robo Queens in December 2018.

She helped the club to a fifth-place finish, scoring five goals in 2019.

The 21-year-old made a name for herself in Thomas Dahleโ€™s ladies side with eight goals from 18 games.

She also made the Toppserien Team of the Week eight times as they bagged bronze.

On her move to the Spanish side, Ajibade said she is happy and eager to hit the ground running in the coming days.

She is the second Nigerian to play for the Spanish giants after Francisca Ordegaโ€™s loan spell in 2017.
