Former LGA Chairman, Edet Isong, Returns To Akwa-Ibom PDP

On Saturday party members in Ward Two People’s Democratic Party i(PDP) n Urue-offong/Oruko celebrated the return of Former Transition Chairman Chief Edet Isong (Okosisi 1) and retired INEC Director, Prince Emmanuel Isong to the party.

Until his return, Isong was a leader in Young People’s Party (YPP) after his defection from All Progressive Congress (APC).

In his remark, Former PDP State Chairmanship Candidate Chief Isong gives accolade to the PDP family in Ward Two for their steadfastness and contributions towards the growth of the party in Urue-offong/Oruko.

He also acknowledged the leadership style of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno and other leaders in Ward Two and Urue-offong/Oruko which inspired his defection to the umbrella party. In her remark, Deputy Ward Chairman who stood in for the Ward Chairman, Mrs Nkoyo Unanaonwi thanked Chief Isong for coming back home to the PDP family.

Unanaonwi expressed joy at receiving a leader whose footprint cannot be forgotten in Ward Two and Urue-offong/Oruko at large. Goodwill messages from stakeholders such as; Hon Victor Amah, Hon Edet Isong Ukpong, Mr Ikpe Effiong, Chief Daniel Afiakurue, Mr Emman Isong, Mrs Uwem Edet Okon, Comr Clement Walter who took turns to expresses their excitement “catching a big fish while fishing”. Speakers at the event also described Isong’s return as a plus to PDP in Ward Two and Urue-offong/Oruko.

The historic event was well attended by Ward Party faithfuls.
