The Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, failed to appear in court on Thursday to answer charges bothering on gun running.
He was also absent during the last courtโs sitting.
The two other persons charged alongside Melaye โ Kabir Seidu and and Nuhu Salihu โ were present in court.
Magistrate Sulyman Abdallah had at the last hearing fixed August 9 for commencement of trial following complain by the senator that he was attacked by hoodlums on his way to Lokoja for the trial.
Melayeโs counsel, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), blamed his clientโs absence in court on health ground.
Ozekhome, who was represented by one Yemi Mohammed, presented a medical report to support his claim.
