Newly sworn-in Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday, has said he remains a member of the Peoples Democratic Party who is only working for President Bola Tinubu and not the All Progressives Congress.
“I am not working for APC. I am working for Tinubu who have trust in me to help him deliver the renewed hope. I owe nobody any apology at all. I was in PDP and I worked for Ahmed Bola Tinubu to become the President of Nigeria.”
Wike made the clarification on Channels TV Politics Today programmed aired on Wednesday.
The former Rivers State governor said nobody in the Peoples Democratic Party can suspend him. He insisted that the party’s leadership owed him apology for failing to keep to the zoning of the presidency and key positioned as stated in its constitution.
The minister stressed that he deserved to be applauded for producing a governor, all state house of Assembly members, three senators and majority of the House of Representatives members from Rivers State.
Wike stated that no party leader of the PDP has any basis to suspend or expel him from the PDP.
“The person who will suspend me is when I couldn’t produce a governor, three senators, Assembly members. I have not seen that person. Nobody will do it”, he said.
