The Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, on Monday, presented the certificate and staff of office to the newly appointed Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade.
The presentation of the certificate and staff of office ceremony was conducted at the Oyo State Government House in Agodi, Ibadan, the state capital.
Recall that Prince Owoade was announced on Friday by the state government as the Alaafin-elect, to succeed late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, the 44th Alaafin of Oyo, who died in April 2022.
The brief but important ceremony had in attendance, Oyo empire kingmakers otherwise known as Oyomesi, top government functionaries, and VIPs from the state.
