Respite has come the way of controversial social media personality Darlington Okoye as he was granted bail two days to Christmas.
Stanley Alieke, the counsel to the musician, disclosed that he has been granted bail after nearly a month in police custody.
Alieke made the disclosure via his Instagram handle on Monday.
“Apki has been granted bail by the court,” he wrote without including much information.
Recall that personnel of the Nigerian Police re-arrested the artiste also known as Akpi in Owerri, the Imo State capital on Wednesday November 27.
Some of Akpi’s fans and other observers have been critical of the police and Grammy winner Damini Ogolu professionally known as Burna Boy who is said to have made a complaint of defamation against Darlington. Some fans went as far as pointing to Burna Boy having a fun-filled Yuletide season which included his hosting of his new love interest, American singer, Chloe Bailey and her ex-boyfriend, American rapper, Gunna in Lagos. Burna who recently released a single, ‘Bundle by Bundle’, also has been showing off his fleet of expensive cars with a Ferrari Purosangue being shown as his most recent acquisition.

Burna Boy resorted to seeking legal redress after Darlington shared videos linking the ‘City Boys’ singer’s Grammy triumph to disgraced music mogul, Sean Combs.
