Madam Onyighi Okoroafor to be laid to rest July 18

The remains of late Madam Enyidiya Okwuagu Susannah Onyighi Okoroafor, the matriarch of Onyighi Okoroafor family of Item in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State will be buried on Saturday, July 18, 2020.

Madam Okoroafor, a community leader, businesswoman and devout Christian of the Methodist denomination, passed on late last year at the age of 85.

She is survived by many children, grandchildren, great grand children.

They include retired School Principal, Mrs. Maureen Ucha Chesa; Mr. Henry Okoroafor, Mazi Ndukwe Okoroafor, Mr. Roland Okoroafor, Mr. Churchill Okoroafor, Engr. Herbert Okoroafor, Mrs. Kate Akachukwu, Dr. Ngozi Akpala, Sir Paragon Amaechi Okoroafor, and Mrs. Ojiugo Arua.

Her stepchildren are Mrs. Chinyere Nnadozie, Mr. Spencer Chima Okoroafor, Mrs. Comfort Usuah, Mrs. Adannaya Agu Onuoha, Mrs. Ebere Elesie Ojukwu, and Mrs. Susannah Chikezie.

The funeral will take place at the family compound of her late husband, Pa Agba-Eze Onyighi Okoroafor, in Ndiugu Amafor, Amaokwe Item, according to a statement issued on behalf of the family by Mazi Ndukwe Okoroafor.

A brief night of tributes will hold in the family compound at Item on July 17; a funeral service follows on the morning of July 18, before the remains of Madam Okoroafor will be interred immediately afterwards.

Mazi Ndukwe pleaded with those attending the funeral ceremonies to endeavour to observe all health and safety guidelines in line with prevalent realities and government directives.
