Muhammad Babangida Denies Rejecting Tinubu’s Appointment

President Ibrahim Babangida’s son, Muhammad, has denied rejecting his appointment as the chairman of the Bank of Agriculture.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had appointed the younger Babangida as chairman of the board of the bank, by Monday, a purported rejection letter by Muhammad trended online, but the son of the military leader disassociated himself from the letter.

Muhammed also accepted the appointment asking the public to disregard the letter in circulation.

The statement by Muhammad read in part: “It has come to the attention of the public that there have been circulating false and misleading reports attempting to tarnish the reputation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration.

“We wish to clarify that Muhammed gratefully accepts the appointment as Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture, as announced by the federal government, and extends his sincere appreciation to President Tinubu for the trust and confidence bestowed upon”.

“We also want to assure the public that those spreading these falsehoods will be thoroughly investigated and brought to justice. We remain committed to transparency, accountability, and fostering unity within our nation.

“We call on all Nigerians to remain vigilant and discerning in verifying information from credible sources”.
