Veteran actor Yemi Solade recently shared insights into the success of his 22-year marriage to his wife, Hannah, whom he married in September 2003.
In an interview with Nollywood Radio, the 65-year-old movie producer emphasized that his wife has been the cornerstone of their relationship, providing encouragement and support during life’s challenges.
He credited much of their marital success to the strong friendship they share, highlighting that their bond has been essential in navigating ups and downs together. Solade is known for his roles in Wale Adenuga’s series, including Papa Ajasco, Super Story, This Life, and Odd World.
“I give it to my wife. She manages me very well. She is been very tolerant; she perseveres a lot. My wife, apart from every other thing, is just a normal person. She is very selfless, she sacrifices more than anybody I know in this world. She is God-sent,” Solade said.
“She understands when I have and when I don’t have. She is not ostentatious. Anything I give to her, she prays for me, and that goes a long way.
“Marriage is more like friendship because it is a life contract”.
Yemi Solade denied rumors of trading s€xual favors for film roles and expressed gratitude to his wife for her support amidst the allegations.
“Once I show her and say ‘Honey, sorry, something is brewing,’ and then she says ‘just be careful’, that is all. My wife is a very peaceful person; otherwise, we would not be together for 22 years now,” he added.
Yemi Solade and Hannah have two children, Rola and Femi. Solade’s first wife left him to live abroad, while he met Hannah on the set of Wale Adenuga’s Super Story.
