Some Nigerians on social media have berated the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, for using the verified Twitter handle of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture to discuss the controversies surrounding the ongoing membership registration of the All Progressives Congress.
The minister had used the official Twitter handle of the federal ministry to state his position on the partyโs registration on Monday.
In a thread, the minister demanded that the partyโs registration should be cancelled in Kwara State, where he hails from.
The PUNCHย had reported that there is a leadership crisis in Kwara APC, with Lai Mohammad leading one of the factions against the governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

Reacting to the tweet, some Nigerians accused Lai Mohammed of ridiculing the country, asking that he should be punished by the President, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (retd.).
They lamented that the information on the federal ministryโs handle should represent what the country stands for.
โThis is embarrassing. Lai Mohammed should be sacked immediately,โ one of the Nigerians, @Abu Ayman posted.
