No Increase In PMS Prices, NNPCL Assures Nigerians

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd on has assured the public that there is no imminent increase in the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

NNPC Ltd in a statement issued in Abuja by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, urged Nigerians to disregard unfounded rumours and assures them that there are no plans for an upward review of the PMS price.

“Motorists nationwide are advised against engaging in panic buying, as there is presently ample availability of PMS across the country”, the statement read.

#1,200 trended online for most part of Wednesday following media reports that the NNPCL and petroleum marketers are at loggerheads over the latter’s plans to increase the pump price of fuel to N1,200 per-liter in response to the landing cost of fuel.
