Executive-Director the National Primary HealthcareDevelopment Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Faisal Shuaib has reiterated government’scommitment to improving health outcomes in the country.
Shuaib identified the Nigerian State Health Investment Project (NSHIP) as a major intervention through which the Federal Government is partnering states to widen access to quality health services.
NSHIP which uses high impact maternal and health interventions, through result based financing is currently being implemented in 52 LGAs in Ondo, Adamawa and Nasarawa State.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony for the Oxford Policy Management Fellowship on Result Based Financing (RBF), the NPHCDA boss said the effective implementation of result based funding for healthcare will also fast track the attainment of Universal Health Coverage.
In his address, head of the Oxford team, Mike Naylor urged that the NPHCDA to effectively deploy the graduands as they are keen and ready to use the training they have acquired.
Earlier, National RBF Technical Assistant, Dr. Joseph Shu said the 13 fellows from the 10-month training have the prerequisite skills to better manage health sector funding.
