Oshiomhole consults with reps, says Galadima a political lightweight

Former Speaker, House of Representatives, Rep. Yakubu Dogara

Chairman of the APC Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was at the House of Representatives on Thursday, assuring  that things would be done differently in the party henceforth.

Oshiomhole told journalists that apart from coming to show appreciation to members, he has also come to address concerns of lawmakers.

“I think a lot of the concern that people have we spoke to them ” he said.

He also said he discussed issues  with members as it affects the relationship between the executive and the legislature .

“I feel we have renewed confidence, we’ve come with total commitment to serve our party. To entrench justice in the way the party is administered, to deepen internal democracy, to eliminate any attempt to impose anybody .and above all to assure everyone that if our democracy is going to  grow, we will only have parliament that can give only to the extent that they know”, he said.

While answering a question from reporters,  he said the party had no breakup “If one Galadima that has no particular political address is not happy, that’s fine. He has a right not to be happy. And if he chooses to then call himself what he wants to call himself, I won’t lose my sleep over that . W know those that are in the system. We know those who are in politics for bread and butter, that is their problem.”

According to him, detractors are writhing in pain after the successful convention of the party and that members expect that things would be done differently. ” you can’t expect to do things the same way and expect a different result,” he said .

Oshiomhole further stated that “every person matters in our Party because all party members voluntarily moved from various political platforms, and dissolved those platforms in order to give birth to the All Progressive Congress.”

The idea of delivering the greater good for the greater number of Nigerian citizens is what binds the APC together and  “defines us in spite of the teething problems we were bound to experience that every new organisation goes through.

But the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara did not mince words as he told the Party Chairman that  Justice and Equity are the only way to silence voices of dissent and opposition in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC),

Speaking at the meeting between APC members of the House and members of the newly elected national working committee of the party led by the chairman Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole at the National Assembly, Dogara said: “In every family whether it is a nuclear, extended or an organisation there is bound to be problem and that is because we human that are running those institutions are not perfect ourselves. So we don’t expect perfection in from any quarters.”

“Our only expectation is the issue of justice and justice is indivisible. What is justice to the executive should be justice to the legislature and it should be justice to the judiciary.”

“What is justice to the President and the Vice President should be justice to the Governor and it has to be justice for the members of the National Assembly, because you can’t divide justice. Once you begin to divide justice you don’t have justice.”

“And once we are able to get these things in their proper perspectives to some extent we will be able to silence the voices of dissent within the party but we have problems is perfectly okay but we mustn’t allow our problems to define us rather we should define our problems as a party.”

The Speaker expressed confidence in the ability  of Oshiomhole to tackle the challenges confronting the party.

“I know that you come well prepared we can only wish you well and pray for God’s additional wisdom because human wisdom won’t be enough as you navigate very treacherous terrain we pray God wisdom for you.”
