Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says he is ready to waive his right to immunity from investigation in order clear his name of certain accusations.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria said the situation became necessary because of what he described as โdefamatory and misleading assertionsโ by some people about his person.
The VP specifically named a former deputy national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Timi Frank; and another person, Katch Ononuju, described online as โeconomist and public affairs analyst,โย as two persons who had put their names to the assertions.
Taking to his verified Twitter handle @ProfOsinbajo on Wednesday evening, the VP had tweeted:
In the past few days, a spate of reckless and malicious falsehoods have been peddled in the media against me by a group of malicious individuals.
The defamatory and misleading assertions invented by this clique have been making the social media rounds anonymously.

In the past few days, a spate of reckless and malicious falsehoods have been peddled in the media against me by a group of malicious individuals.
The defamatory and misleading assertions invented by this clique have been making the social media rounds anonymously.
I will waive my constitutional immunity to enable the most robust adjudication of these claims of libel and malicious falsehood.
