PHOTOS: Peter Obi, Aregbesola attend Afenifere Symposium In Honour Of Ayo Adebanjo

Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, and Rauf Aregbesola, former minister of interior, were among the dignitaries who attended the Afenifere symposium.

The event, titled ‘Afenifere – Identity, ideas and ideology,’ was held in honour of the late Ayo Adebanjo, the factional leader of Afenifere, the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, to mark his 97th posthumous birthday.

Adebanjo died on February 14, at his residence in Lekki, Lagos state.

In an X post on Thursday, Obi said the event served as a reflection on the values of Afenifere and its pursuit of true federalism, democracy, and good governance over the years.

He added that the event also beamed the light on Adebanjo’s commitment to justice, equity, and a united Nigeria during his life time.

“Today, I had the honour of attending the inaugural symposium Organized by the Pan Yoruba Organization, the Afenifere to celebrate the exceptional legacy of Chief Ayo Adebanjo,” the post reads.
