UPDATED: Police fail to comply as Abuja Magistrate Court grants Dino Melaye bail

The senator representing Kogi West, Mr. Dino Melaye is has been arraigned at the Magistrate Court,Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, Frontline News Online can reveal.

Frontline News Online also gathered that the lawmaker has been granted bail. A close associate of the senator described as highly regrettable, the refusal of the police to let go of Melaye, despite the being granted.

“We have finished with the court hearing and the senator has been granted bail. But the police wont let him go”,  the source said while pleading for anonymity.

“Combat-ready Policemen blocked all the roads leading to the court”, he further disclosed.

According to Sahara Reporters, Dino was brought into the court on a stretcher by the police.

The online news medium also reports that the court has granted him bail in the sum of N90 million.

Frontline News Online is yet to ascertain the charges brought against the Kogi lawmaker, but the police had accused him of being indicted by suspects in a case of criminal conspiracy and unlawful  possession of firearms, kidnapping, armed robbery murder and political thuggery in Kogi State.

Reports had it that the Kogi lawmaker was at some point handcuffed to his bed. Even as the video of his confrontation with the police after he allegedly jumped out a moving vehicle has gone viral.
