Police in Lagos have arrested pop singer, Tekno, who was involved in the recent display of strippers in a truck on Lagos road.
The truck was stuck in the traffic last Friday around the Lekki/Ikoyi tollgate in Lagos with semi-nude ladies dancing seductively.
Videos of the incident showing five oiled girls in lingerie dancing around a pole with Tekno throwing foreign currency at them and smacking their butts immediately went viral on social media.
QED.ng reports Lagos Police Command, spokesman, Bala Elkana, as saying the singer was invited on Tuesday for questioning at the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba over the incident.
“The command has arrested Tekno and the two girls for conveying half-naked girls at the Lekki area of Lagos.
“He is presently undergoing questioning at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti,” the online medium quoted Mr Elkana as saying.
Tekno’s arrest comes even after he apologised over the incident which drew criticism, explaining that the display was part of a music video shoot. He added that he didn’t intended to breach public decency.
The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency has suspended the licence of the advertising firm, Pro-Vision Media Systems Limited, that owns the van for promoting indecency.
