The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a notorious kidnapper, Chinaza Phillip.
Phillip was apprehended in Kaduna while on his way to Kano State alongside his accomplices and victim, on Thursday.
The police confronted Phillip’s men in a gun duel which they were defeated, and their victim, Segun Akinyemi, an Abuja resident, was rescued.
The kidnappers were taking Akinyemi from Abuja to Kano State when the police swooped on them, according to Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna, ASP Mansir Hassan.
Hassan said following a distress call, security operatives attached to Kawo Divisional Headquarters, Kaduna, launched a manhunt.
