These are not the best of times for controversial afrobeats artiste, Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, as he was remanded in the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on Monday.
The ‘Tony Montana’ singer failed to meet the stringent bail conditions imposed by an Upper Area Court in the state, hence his trip to the prison.
The artiste who broke out with his collaboration with popular rapper Olamide, titled, ‘Zazu’ had appeared in court on Monday on the charges of defamation character leveled against him by veteran Fuji musician Akorede Saheed, aka Saheed Osupa.
Portable had described Osupa as a big for nothing while body shaming him as too much on the big side,
Potable has been granted bail at the sum of N1 million and he is also to produce two sureties in like sum.
The court further directed that one of the sureties must be either the Chairman or Secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, while the other must be a property owner within a Government Reserved Area in Ilorin, supported by a valid Certificate of Occupancy.
