National Chairman of the Reformed All Progressives Party (R-APC) Mr. Buba Galadima was involved in a car accident on Monday.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Kassim Afegbua, confirmed to Frontline News Online, that Galadima survived the accident, but the grey Sports Utility Vehicle he was conveyed in was severely damaged.
Afegbua said Galadima was on his way back from Katsina State where he went to pay a condolence visit to the family of the former Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Coomassie, when he got involved in the accident.
But another version of story has it that the accident occurred along Hadejia-Kano Road, as Galadima was returning from Yobe state where he went to condole with his brother who lost his daughter.
The tough talking politician was said to have been in company of his son, Sadiq Galadima, a relative Mohammed Galadima and two others.
All passengers in the vehicle survived, even as Frontline News Online, gathered that another vehicle was arranged to convey them to Kano for medical checks.
The R-APC chairman who has been engaged in a verbal war with the APC had told Vanguard in a recent interview that his life was in danger.
He said: “Adams Oshiomhole, the purported chairman of APC and Ibrahim Masari, the purported national welfare officer have made statements in the press, both in print and electronic media that they will crush me. That means that they can kill me. So, should anything happen to me, the nation and the world should hold them responsible. They can use state powers to detain me.
‘They can use state powers to eliminate me. I want this to be on record and I want this recorded. To crush means anything. They have no confidence in themselves in engaging me in a public discourse for the world to know who is right and who is wrong. So, they want to use extra means to deal with me. I have the papers; I have the audio and the video”.
