Sanusi To Turban Eldest Son As Ciroman Kano

The 16th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, will officially name his first son the Ciroman of Kano, a title reserved for the crown prince or heir apparent.

Ciroman is an important title of cultural and political significance in the Kano Emirate as it represents the appointee’s individual’s direct lineage rights, coupled with oversight to manage certain districts.

The last holder of the title was Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, who was made Emir of Bichi in 2020 but removed after four years on the throne.

Sanusi’s son, a serving police officer with the rank of DSP, will be honoured alongside nine others on Friday, November 25, 2024.

They include Mahmud Aminu Yusufu, new Mai Unguwar Mundubawa; Dr. Abubakar Sanusi Usman Shehu II as Dan Galadiman Kano, and Alhaji Abubakar Aminu Sanusi (Wambai) is to serve as Dan Madami.

Others include Arch. Ali Muktar, Sa’in Kano; Sarki Yusuf Bayero ‘Yan Daka; Abdullahi Idris Bayero, Fagacin Kano; Ado Abdullahi Aminu, Kaigaman Kano; Idris Sanusi, Sarkin Sullubawa; Mansur Isa Bayero, Sarkin Kudu; and Abdullahi Sarki Mohammed, Sarkin Yamma.
