Several missed chances and a lackluster performance by the Super Eagles saw them drawing with less fancied Equatorial Guinea in the team’s first group A match at the ongoing African Cup of Nation (AFCON) tournament.

The Nigerian senior men’s team which parades an impressive list of top players managed a 1-1 draw with the Guinean team to the disappointment of fans across the Nigeria.

Recall that Iban Salvador netted a surprise opener for Equatorial Guinea against the run of play with a well-worked goal, but the lead lasted only two minutes before Napoli forward Osimhen headed Nigeria level.

Nigeria next meet hosts Ivory Coast in a potentially crucial group match on Thursday, while Equatorial Guinea face Guinea-Bissau, who lost 2-0 to the Ivorians in Saturday’s tournament opening game.
