Tinubu, Ambode meet at Jim Ovia’s book launch with governor differing to APC national leader

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, at an event on Monday reportedly asked if he was ‘qualified’ to speak after the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu had addressed the audience.

According to trending tweets, Ambode, when invited to the podium to speak at the event which had many governors and traditional rulers in attendance said: “Actually, I didn’t prepare to come and say anything here… And who am I to speak after the Jagaban has spoken?”

This allegedly drew laughter from the audience. Ambode had been invited to speak immediately after the former governor of Lagos State.

he Lagos governor later tweeted a congratulatory message to the author of the book, Jim Ovia. He wrote: “Congratulations to Jim Ovia on the publication of his new book “Africa; Rise and Shine”. I am certain that the wealth of experience shared will serve as a compass for young entrepreneurs who dare to dream and redefine the African narrative.”

Ovia is the founder of  Zenith Bank Plc.

The book was unveiled in Lagos.
